Stephen Marchione OMC Maple
2016 Stephen Marchione OMC
Stephen Marchione has built a big reputation in luthiery based on instruments on like this. I’ve had the pleasure to have one of his classical guitars too, and he’s the rare luthier that also builds a nylon string with good sound— I think I’m just trying to say that there’s a musicality that seems to be a common thread amongst the instruments he makes.

Condition / Setup Notes
The guitar remains in excellent(-) shape, with only light wear throughout, that isn’t very conspicuous in general, and hard to spot without raking light. String height is currently about 5/64”-4/64” from bass to treble, with just a touch of relief.
***
It seems that there was a conscious choice made at each step of design, and I find that this guitar becomes more than the sum of its part through these careful considerations. From the Spanish foot to the adhesive and finish choices, the hand planed and chalked glue surfaces, stainless steel frets, locking tuners. Even the nut and saddle are a less usual camel bone. The builder’s stated design-intent is to satisfy both fingerpickers and flat pickers, which I personally find rings true. Just a beautiful guitar from a celebrated luthier.
