2019 Keystone Jujube

A very nice example of the work from luthier Keisuke Nishi of Keystone Luthiery. This is his Jujube model, or 00. The back and sides are exquisitely figured Swiss maple that exhibit both birdseye and quilt. The Keystone signature 3D rosette is also done up in maple.

Condition / Setup Notes

Excellent; The guitar overall is in very clean shape, retains its luster, and there is hardly any surface wear, but there is finish checking that is visible throughout in raking light, some examples of are photographed at the end. But again, it presents very nicely. Set up nicely with string height about 6/64”-4/64” from bass to treble, with a touch of relief.

Keystone guitars are deserving of their high reputation in terms of craftsmanship, materials and sound. This one is adorned with a German spruce top with no runout, and very nice Swiss maple with dramatic birdseye/quilt grain. Many details on this one also, with a sculpted nut, purfling on the fingerboard, and multiple laminations on the headstock faces. There are of course the Keystone signature flourishes also, including the 3D rosette and the sculpted cutaway.
