Here’s a Solomon Phidelity 16” archtop with a collection of very nice specs. The standout to me is the highly figured, one piece quilted maple back. Brazilian rosewood fretboard, tailpiece, and bridge. French polished throughout, and notably light weight at just over 3.5lbs.

Condition / Setup Notes
The guitar remains in excellent condition, with minimal wear to be found even with the delicate finish. I’d note light peg winder wear in the headstock and a small impression in the back, findable in raking light but was not able to photograph effectively. Very subtle. There has been a strap pin added to the heel after photography, so most of the shots do not show it, but you can see it toward the end of the photo set. The current Brazilian rosewood bridge is non-adjustable, but string height is about 5/64”-4/64” with a straight neck and feels great. Included also is an ebony adjustable bridge, and an ebony tailpiece.

This is a unique archtop in both form and function. The form and materials speak for themselves, it’s a visually stunning guitar. In function, the shorter scale lends itself to fingerstyle playing, although it still takes a pick as you might expect for an archtop. Some will appreciate the nut width also being on the slimmer side. I always like stainless steel frets, which play smoothly and don’t wear under most circumstances. I have to mention again the luxurious single-piece back, and the incredible light weight, just over 3.5lbs. An impressive work from luthier Erich Solomon.
