Condition / Setup Notes

Excellent; The guitar retains its luster and is beautiful shape. The picking area finish has become matte, but could be buffed back if chosen. The only notable flaw is a small chip on the horn, pictured. Current string height is just above 2mm and just below 2mm from bass to treble, with just a touch of relief. It still plays nicely at this low string height, a hallmark of these pre-refined Flys.

***

This model has endured for a reason, and it’s easy to understand how it has become so desirable over the years. According to certain sources, it’s possible they made less than a dozen or two of these guitars. Aside from its unique Fly aesthetic, the all-spruce body provides for a lightweight instrument, and one that has enough resonant volume unplugged to be useful for quiet practice. Plugged in also sounds great, surprisingly natural, with the ability to adjust each string’s signal strength. One of the most successful Fly designs, with both visual beauty and musical utility.
