2014 Lester DeVoe Flamenco Negra

A fairly recent example from lauded maker Lester DeVoe. As beautifully made as it sounds and plays.

Condition / Setup Notes

Excellent; There is spare button / clothing wear in the back, and play marks in the golpeador, but everywhere else is largely free from any surface and the finish retains its overall luster. The case has a small section of piping that is loose, but is working solidly. Current string height is about 2.5mm from bass to treble, with a touch of relief in the neck.

This example comes from a fairly recent year for this in-demand luthier who currently has closed his order book. It has a big clear sound that to me also works well with classical music. The details are beautiful, with an iridescent maple purfling throughout. The rosette is also intricate and tastefully executed. Quite the instrument from an acknowledged master.
