Condition / Setup Notes

Very Good(+): Overall the guitar shows light wear commensurate with its age, delicate finish, and as a guitar that’s been played. But still it retains its overall luster, and has aged nicely. Some examples of wear are shown in the last pictures. Currently set up with string height about 3.5mm to 2.75mm from bass to treble, with a bit of relief; as with all Hill guitars, this one has a truss rod in it, and the relief can be adjusted.

***

Just beautiful guitar, and on account of its light weight impressive from the moment its picked up. The seventh string can be useful in multiple contexts, including Brazilian music, jazz, and transcriptions. Nice also to have that additional sympathetic vibration. It can be difficult to find a crossover or cutaway classical with a truly good sound, but the Hill shop is known for its long history making concert instruments both traditional and contemporary, and that is apparent when playing this guitar. In addition to its nice acoustic voice, it also has a K and K pickup installed, ready for amplification.
