As nice as it gets for an all-koa jumbo. This is a great example of Goodall’s work from the Hawaii days. Highly figured koa is used for the top, back and sides, very nice cuts especially considering the size.

Condition / Setup Notes
Especially in considering its age, the guitar remains in excellent(+) condition. There is minimal surface wear to be found. There are pick scratches on the clear pickguard, and some pecks in the top around the pickguard (last picture). The slightest hints of fret wear. Really in quite nice shape for a 1995 model. Currently set up with string height about 5/64”-4/64”, with a little bit of relief. There is a significant amount of saddle remaining. It’s possible the case is a later addition, I’m not sure that Goodall or many others would have been using Ameritage cases like this one. Of course it is a welcome upgrade if that’s the case, a perfect fit and branded with the maker’s mark.

This guitar has a lot of appeal, visually and sonically. The quality of koa stands out here, and the choice of using a less common Birdseye maple for the binding I think is a nice touch. The rosette and backstrip also yearn to be seen, made from exceptionally wide, colorful, and dramatically figured pieces of abalone. The sound too is large, pleasant, with a lot of presence as you may expect from a body of this size.
