Ergon by Adriano Sergio Candura Nylon NAMM 2025

2025 Ergon Candura Nylon String NAMM Show

An exquisitely crafted stage nylon guitar from Adriano Sergio of Ergon Guitars, featured at the 2025 NAMM show. It’s fully acoustic, with a body carved out from a single piece of very old Spanish cedar. Mainly being a stage guitar it’s thinner than a typical classical guitar would be, but it produces a high-quality acoustic voice as well, which can be challenging to achieve. It’s one of those guitars that exudes both visual and sonic appeal, and is a culmination of many details. And always nice, it is incredibly lightweight at about 3.7lbs.

Condition / Setup Notes

Excellent(+), The guitar was a NAMM show feature and played sparingly there, but remains in very clean condition with minimal wear apparent, if any at all, in the delicate oil/wax finish. String height is a very comfortable 2.5mm-2mm from bass to treble, with a touch of relief.

***

There is a lot to love about this guitar. The case itself is a work of art, and it’s an exciting feeling to anticipate what’s inside, and then to see the unique and contemporary lines of this nylon string guitar. The construction and material choices are top notch, with the body being made of a single piece of old, carved out Spanish cedar and a nicely bear clawed top. The carving details in the neck too are striking, with flourishes in the base of the headstock and neck joint. The neck joint itself is of note also, with the neck being set into the body, another point of visual appeal. I would mention again its light weight at about 3.7lbs. All these details in the end are in service to a musical tool worthy for many applications, most notably for me a satisfying acoustic voice. As someone that primarily plays classical and nylon string guitars, the neck also feels great, with a 49mm nut that’s a bit roomier than the more typical 47-48mm widths on “crossover” style guitars. The profile is also a slimmer D (relative to more traditional classical guitars) and overall feels just right.
