2023 Emanuele Faggion Musa Midsize (OM)

This is a Midsize “Musa” model from Italian luthier Emanuele Faggion. The lower bout is about 15”, making it similar in size to an OM. In-hand it makes a great first impression with its matte open-pore nitro finish and notably light weight.

Condition / Setup Notes

New; This is a new guitar, but has a very delicate and thin finish that may show very slight signs of handling from shows, photography, and recording. Emanuele has included a note and care guide for this finish. Currently set up with string height about 5.5/64”-4/64” from bass to treble, with just a touch of relief.

I’m glad to have connected with Emanuele and grateful to have the opportunity to play and carry his instruments. This “Musa” Midsize model has a vibe of its own, sparely appointed and with a matte open-pore finish, but with a nicely figured Bavarian spruce top and wenge for the back and sides that add a bit of natural visual drama. Also notable is its light weight, only about 3.6lbs, and the body has such a resonant feel when played. I feel a certain intimacy to playing this guitar. It has a beautiful sound that seems to like fingerstyle playing primarily, but takes a flatpick without any hesitancy. A unique guitar from a dedicated craftsman.
