Eastman AR-150 13” Archtop

2010 Eastman AR150 13” Archtop

I love these smaller, limited production Eastman archtops. This one is an AR-150, with a solid carved body and a built-in humbucker at the neck. The rims are a bit narrower also compared to its full-depth cousin the AR-145. A compact, rare guitar that is a pleasure to play and hold, weighing in just under 4.1lbs.

Specs / Measurements

  • 2010

  • Spruce / Maple, all solid carved

  • Three-piece mahogany neck

  • Figured maple binding

  • ~1.73” nut

  • ~24.75” string length

  • ~2.06” string spacing at saddle

  • ~13” lower bout

  • ~2” rims

  • ~4.09lbs

  • Open back gold 510 tuners

Condition / Setup Notes

Very Good; The guitar retains its overall luster but there are spots of obvious wear as pictured. The string path however is clean, with frets showing only slight wear and dressed nicely at the moment. Setup with flaxwounds, string height is currently about 5/64”-4/64” from bass to treble, with minimal relief in the neck. Playing nicely.

***

These obscure Eastman models are a delight to encounter, and aside from their rarity fill a nice niche. The body is compact in both lower bout width, depth, and string length. Configured with a single neck pickup, and a fully acoustic carved body. Of course an electric guitar, but it puts out a surprising amount of sound for the size and with a built-in humbucker (and even with flatwounds). Notably and pleasantly light weight. A very cool and nice guitar that will occupy a special place in the lineup.
