Eastman AR145 13” Acoustic Archtop
c2013 Eastman AR145 13” Acoustic Archtop
These come a bit few and far between, and from a line of 13” archtops from Eastman in the 2010s. There are several variations out there, and each one I’ve handled has been a treat. This one is a non-cutaway and fully acoustic, and puts out a lot of sound for its diminutive size. Here’s a casual clip of it from Instagram.

I am completely charmed by small archtops, especially when they’re fully carved acoustic guitars and sound great that way. This one has a great size, 13” with a slightly deeper body, and the lines are beautiful with the 16 fret neck joint. It also makes for plenty of fret access while keeping it a non-cutaway guitar. I find that it sounds quite clear and big, and I don’t get any impression of “boxiness” that sometimes accompanies a smaller body; here’s a casual iPhone demo from Instagram. A rare and beautiful guitar that you may also just like to look at for its lovely figure, in a size and configuration that would be hard to find elsewhere.
