D’Aquisto Centura (Aria)

c2006 D’Aquisto Centura (Aria)

In the 2000s Aria made a line of tributes to the work of James D’Aquisto, and this one is modeled after the Centura. Finished in an attractive violin burst, with nice figure in the woods.

Specs / Measurements

  • c2006

  • Solid pressed spruce top / Laminated maple back and sides

  • Maple neck and binding

  • Ebony fittings, Accutone bridge

  • ~1.71” nut

  • ~25.5” string length

  • ~2.07” string spacing at saddle

  • ~17” lower bout

  • Gotoh tuners

  • Original D’Aquisto branded hard case

Condition / Setup Notes

Excellent; The guitar is in nice shape, with light wear commensurate with its age. There is a ding in the binding on the back that goes through the finish, but is in an inconspicuous area. Setup currently with low string height about 4/64”-3/64” from bass to treble, with just a touch of relief.

***

These Aria reissues are well-made, and constitute one of the few reproductions that can be found out there. Despite not being a carved top, it still sounds good, and it's of course nice to have such a uniquely figured guitar, even down to the name on the headstock.
