Bosquet Style A Nylon String
2026 Bosquet Style A Nylon String
A stunning achievement of luthiery from Ryosuke Kobayashi of Bosquet Guitars, in Nagano, Japan. This guitar was designed with all things considered, from material selection to sound, feel, and playability. I don’t always refer to guitars as works of art, but the refined lines and the sculpted feel justify that sort of attribution in this case. The functional intent of the Style A is as a stage guitar, and the thinner body and arm bevel make it a comfortable guitar to perform with. There are three video samples of this guitar, two are acoustic and one is of it plugged in.

Condition / Setup Notes
New; The guitar has never been owned, although there may be slight handling evidence from photography and demos. Currently set up with string height about 2.5mm to 2mm from bass to treble, but this is quickly and easily adjustable under string tension with an included hex wrench.

There’s so much to talk about with this guitar. Here are some of the standouts:
-Material selection: The ancient cedar used for the top has been preserved for thousands of years in volcanic ash. It exhibits a beautiful ashen grey color, with blues and greens that seem to show depending on light and angle. Tochi wood is used for the back and sides, and this is an exquisitely figured specimen. I also love the spalted koa sapwood purflings, which create a striking outline.
-The sculptural cutaway / neck joint: Called a twisted bendaway with offset cutaway, the neck joint area is a marvel. The bendaway from the front continues through the back and creates a ridge along the entire back and to the tail.
-Adjustable neck, minimal heel: It’s always nice to be able to tweak string height on the fly. As part of this design, the heel has been minimized for superior feel. The adjustment mechanism is concealed under the fretboard between the 17th and 18th frets. There is a spare cover included, a nice touch.
-19 hole tie block: This design has several benefits. Visually, the strings do not need to be tied around the exterior of the bridge, resulting in an unobstructed clean look. Functionally, the extra holes create more stability for the string and minimizes the possibility of string slips. It is also possible to choose between two break angles, which can subtly affect the feel and tension. Lastly, the 19th hole means that the strings can be tied off both “right handed” or “left handed.”
A triumph of both form and function, representing luthiery at its finest.
